Ahimsa silk, often called peace silk, is a fabric born of patience and kindness. Unlike conventional silk, it is created without harm, the silkworms are allowed to emerge, completing their natural cycle before the threads are gathered. What remains is a silk that carries a soft, natural glow and an airy drape, as if the fabric itself breathes. To wear it is to wrap yourself in quiet grace, a gentle luxury that honors both beauty and compassion.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Crafted slowly by hand, botanically dyed, and woven with sacred care, each piece deserves tenderness in return.
To preserve the essence of your AYA piece:
- Hand wash in cold water with gentle, natural soap. Harsh detergents may strip away the plant-based colors and natural energy of the fabric.
- Do not soak or bleach. Each dye is alive — made from roots, flowers, and leaves. Like all living things, it deserves gentle handling.
- Dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight, to honor the integrity of botanical dyes and maintain the fabric’s strength and beauty.
- Iron on low heat if needed, ideally with a layer of cloth between the iron and garment.
- Store folded or hanging in a cool, dry space, accompanied by herbs or a natural sack.
